I graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Sociology and Journalism.
I later received my Master’s in Education from Wayland Baptist University.
Bachelor’s Degree in Sociology and Journalism
Master’s Degree in Education with a Reading Specialization
School Counselor Certification through Wayland Baptist University.
This is my first year being part of Hale Center ISD, where I am the elementary counselor at Akin Elementary. I am so excited to be part of this school district and community.
Before coming to Hale Center, I was a counselor for 15 years in Lubbock ISD. I started my counseling career at Honey Elementary, where I worked for 5 years, and, most recently, Irons Middle School, where I worked for 10 years.
Before becoming a counselor, I taught for 11 years in all different levels from elementary through college.
I actually did my student teaching, as well as my first year of teaching for Plainview ISD, at Ash 6th Grade.
My husband Trent and I have three kids: Summer, Payge, and Easton. Summer and Payge are grown, and Easton is a junior in high school.
We have two rescue dogs, Marlow and Scrappy.
In my spare time I love to spend time with my family, watch my son play baseball, read, and relax in my swimming pool. I also love holding my new grandson, Calloway, as much as possible.
